Nikolina Beach: A Complete Guide

Nikolina is the heart of Baška Voda. Named after the village's patron saint, St Nicholas the Traveller, whose statue greets boats from the pier, this long beach runs from the harbour to Stazica beach and is one of the best-kept beaches on the Adriatic.

The Beach at a Glance

Nikolina is long and pebbly, with white pebbles, very clear water and a gentle entry into the sea that suits children and older guests. The line of pine trees along the beach was planted in the 1930s by the town's embellishment society, and today it gives welcome shade. Nikolina was first awarded the Blue Flag in 2006, won Croatia's national Blue Flower award in 2008, and was named by the Daily Mail in 2015 among the ten most attractive beaches in the Mediterranean.

Best Time to Visit

Nikolina is busy in July and August, but it is long enough that you can usually find a spot. Mornings are the calmest; June and September are perfect for families.

Exploring the Surroundings

North of the harbour are Podluka and Ikovac; south of Nikolina the coast continues with Stazica and Baško Polje beaches towards Promajna. The promenade connects them all, and in the evening the beach bars along the way are a relaxed place for a drink.

Practical Tips for Your Visit

Come early in peak season for a shaded spot under the pines. If you drive, leave the car near the harbour and walk along the promenade.
