Under the wonderful motto "Summer in the City – Lito u gradu," our coastal town is transforming into a vibrant stage filled with music, sports, culture, and unforgettable nights throughout June 2026.

The Highlights at a Glance
Week 1: WTA Open & Massive Concert Highlights (June 01 – 07)
The first week of June kicks off with high-class elegance and athleticism at the WTA Open. If you want to experience world-class women's tennis up close, this is the place to be. But that’s not all! The evenings will be accompanied by absolute megastars of the Croatian music scene:
- June 05 (Friday, 21:30): Pop icon Severina will make the historic Kačić Square (Kačićev trg) rock. An open-air concert of a lifetime that you cannot afford to miss!
- June 06 (Saturday, 20:00): An exclusive Gala Dinner featuring the magical vocals of Mateo Đikić at the Tennis Center Makarska.
- June 07 (Sunday, 20:30): Pure energy! Indira Forza (the legendary former voice of Colonia) will turn the Tennis Center into a massive open-air party.
🏉 Sports Fever on the Coast: Rugby Europe 7s (June 05 – 07)
Parallel to the tennis action, things are speeding up at the City Sports Center (Gradski sportski centar). The finest teams on the continent will battle it out at the European Championships in Rugby Europe 7s. Speed, dynamics, and a fantastic fan culture are guaranteed!

120 Years of Tourism in Makarska: "Topografija sjećanja" (June 11)
Makarska is celebrating a major milestone: 120 years of tourism (1906–2026)! On Thursday, June 11, starting at 20:30, you are warmly invited to gather in front of the City Museum (Ispred Gradskog muzeja). As part of the "Maestrale" program, you can look forward to:
- A beautiful live concert by the "Ljetno kino band".
- The fascinating video exhibition "Topografija sjećanja" (Topography of Memory) by Lina Rica, taking you on a time-travel journey through our town's history.
Dance, Elegance & Melodic Vibes (June 14)
June 14 offers a wonderful contrast of events:
- 09:00: The City Sports Hall hosts the 16th Dalmatian Regional Championship in Majorette Dance and Twirling—a colorful, rhythmic spectacle for the whole family.
- 20:30: If you prefer a romantic evening, head over to the Malacological Museum (Shell Museum). The exceptional duo Darko Rundek & Ana Kovačić will perform an intimate concert filled with poetry and smooth melodies.

Youth & Sports: Makarsko Ljeto 2026 (June 17 – 21)
The traditional youth basketball tournament Makarsko Ljeto 2026 (KK Amfora) brings together the rising stars of tomorrow at the City Sports Center.
The Ultimate Festival Highlight: METNO (June 19 – 20)
For music festival lovers, the METNO Festival for traditional and modern ethno music at the Monument to the Revolution (Spomenik revoluciji) is an absolute must. Two days of infectious rhythms await:
- Friday & Saturday from 21:30: Live performances by VEJA, Lucia de Carvalho, and beats by DJ Tondini & Lina Rica.
- The headliner: The legendary, high-energy band DUBIOZA KOLEKTIV is going to rock the stage!
- The ultimate extra: On Saturday starting at 14:00, there is a dedicated Party Boat featuring DJ Tondini & Lina Rica!

Theater, Tradition & Culture at Month's End
June 25 (19:00): For the little ones, the charming children's play "Zelena priča" (The Green Story) takes place under the open sky at Kačić Square.
June 26 – 30: International flair returns with the 28th International Handball Tournament (ŽRK Makarska) at the Sports Center.
June 27 (21:00): Open-air theater at its best at the Open Cinema (Ljetno kino) with the play "Iva i Glorija".
June 28 (10:00): Start your Sunday right with "Jutarnji đir u gradu" (Morning Stroll in the City) featuring live music by BEG on Lištun Street.
June 29 (19:00): To crown the month, experience authentic Dalmatian tradition at the Ribarska Večer / Fisherman's Night along the City Promenade (Gradska riva). Expect fresh fish, local wine, and traditional music!

Every Wednesday: Walk the Paths of History (Maestrale Detour)
A top insider tip for your vacation: Every Wednesday (as well as on June 24), the tourist board offers free, guided storytelling tours in English and Polish. The meeting point is always the Tourist Information Center. It's a wonderful opportunity to discover Makarska's hidden alleys and legends!

Art & Exhibitions You Must See (Mon – Fri)
If you want to escape the afternoon heat, Makarska has fantastic exhibitions running throughout June:
- City Museum: A curated selection from the Museum Collections (09:00 – 11:00).
- Antun Gojak Gallery: Experience the timeless art and creativity of Nikša Antonini (1956–1996) (10:00 – 12:00 & 18:00 – 20:00).
- Veliki Kaštel, Kotišina: The stunning Interpretive Center built right into the cliffs of the Biokovo mountain (08:00 – 14:00).
- Villa Irena: Visually stunning dialogues with the landscape—"Dijalozi s krajolikom" (11:00 – 14:00).
