Donja Vala Beach: A Complete Guide

The Beach at a Glance
The beach is about 250 metres of pebbles, and its whole length is shaded by pine trees. Terraces of restaurants, pizzerias and cafés line the back of the beach, giving it a friendly, lively atmosphere in summer.
Best Time to Visit
Donja Vala is popular in July and August. Come in the morning for a calm swim, or in June and September for a quieter village feel.

Facilities & Amenities
There are showers and changing rooms on the beach, pedal boats to rent, and shops, cafés and restaurants right behind it. Parasols cannot be rented here, so bring your own just in case, though the pines give plenty of shade.
Exploring the Surroundings
Gornja Vala, Drvenik's longest beach, is a short walk away along the promenade, and Lučica cove lies beyond it towards Zaostrog. The ferry from Drvenik to Sućuraj makes an easy day trip to the island of Hvar.

Practical Tips for Your Visit
Water shoes are useful on the pebbles, and the promenade makes it easy to explore Drvenik on foot.
Where to Stay Nearby
There is no Makarska Exklusiv home right next to Donja Vala Beach. The closest are VillaSvilla and Villa Adriatic Beachfront, about a 23-minute drive away, and a good base if you plan to explore the southern Riviera by car.

Why Donja Vala Beach Stands Out
Shade along the whole beach, food and drinks a few steps away and an island ferry next door: Donja Vala is a relaxed, practical base for a day on the southern Riviera.
